Vanessa was out for a shopping spree. She deserved it after all, she was studying hard for the last few days so she needed to have some fun! And what better way to do it than practicing her favorite sport? Shopping? Plus her parents saw it as a way to bribe her for the whole good grades thing and for forgetting her birthday gifts in general... And who was she to say no? She hasn't been out of the house since the day she became an official sorority member ... This was her first time out, and she saw it as a nice opportunity to kind of explore the new territory... So after buying some clothes, accessories and of course, shoes, her all time fetish, since she still hadn't found most of her clothes, she headed to her car, leaving all the bags inside and she got to the driver's seat. Boy it felt good to be able to drive her car again! She was going to go at the house at first, but in the process she decided that she was going to procrastinate that for a while since she knew that if she went home she would have things to do, so she decided to go get a coffee instead. After a short stop to a gas station to fill the car, she finally found a coffee shop! And even better... Starbucks!
She parked her car near the coffee shop, and she got out, after closing the roof, locking it and then she walked in, to be greeted with the familiar and favorite smell of coffee and the sound of people chatting around. Vanessa waited patiently at the queue and when it was finally her turn to order she heard the cashier asking her what she was having A caramel latte tall and a black and white cookie please she ordered politely with a small smile. Vanessa payed for them, took the receipt and walked to the end of the bar to take her coffee and cookie. She picked them up and started looking around for a place to sit, when she noticed that there was an empty spot that seemed nice enough, at the corner by the window. She smiled to herself and made her way there
Vanessa left the small tray on the coffee table, and took a seat on the armchair, making herself comfortable and then grabbing one of the magazines that were there, luckily Vogue, and she started flipping through it's pages, taking sips from her coffee, enjoying each and every one of them. She could basically feel the caffeine running through her veins! And it felt wonderful. The combination of coffee, caramel and whipped cream was simply amazing! She continued going through the pages of her magazine, until it came to an end and a small sigh left her lips... She grabbed her purse which she had left on the floor by the armchair and took the book she was currently reading out... She found the page she had bookmarked earlier and started reading, when a shadow covered her sight and Vanessa looked up to see who was standing above her head[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Chemistry - what a joke. It seemed like such a stupid waste of time; mixing viles of different substances together just to see what reaction you'd get. Now, really, that didn't bother Alyshia at all. She actually enjoyed that class, when experiments were being done. What truly bothered her was that it had nothing to do with what she had planned for his future. Why did all the fun jobs come with such boring courses? And then all the lame jobs had barely any expectations. It just wasn't fair. Or so she thought, bursting out into the chilly breeze as she left the building.
The girl buried her hand into one of the pockets of her jeans, retrieving a package of Camels and a plain, metal Zipo lighter. Not classy or chic or anything she usually took pains to appear as, but there was little she could do about it. It was a horrible habit she had picked up a few years ago, when she was first starting out high school. It was the whole peer pressure deal that made her want to start, to fit in with the "cool" kids. But now that she's old enough to know better, she knows, it's too late for him to even consider quitting. At least she was one of the 'cool kids' she strove so hard to fit in with. You couldn't get much higher then sorority house president. All fine and well, if Alyshia could only figure out if it had been worth the effort. College was so...plebian. Even heading up ZTA was turning out to be a bit of a joke, and none of her other extra-curriculars were turning out to be much fun either.
So says the girl heading up numerous clubs and sport teams. People all over campus had her picture on a dart board or vodoo doll. Lucky girl. She knew she ought to quit, especially after all the gruelling images she had suffered through in freshman biology all the way back in high school. But she couldn't. Wouldn't. Absolutely will not. But that was most likely the nicotine taking control of her mind. She slipped the cancer stick between her lips and lit the opposite end with a flick of the lighter, inhaling a bit of smoke before pushing the Zipo back into her jean pocket, along with the package of cigarettes. Alyshia pinched the cigarette between his fingers, pulling it from between her lips for a few seconds, and exhaled a bit of smoke as her free hand slipped into the other pocket of her jeans, in search of her iPod. Her own personal therapist, though her family had several of those on the paycheck as well. Nuts.
Before she even attempted to detangle the cord of the earphones, Alyshia placed the cigarette between her lips again and then got to work on the knotted cord. Damn cord, it always managed to get tangled up. Even if she wrapped it neatly around her iPod, as she always did, it would always to this to her and make her have to waste his energy on detangling it-or getting some poor unfortunate to. But there were no pledges around, either. Manual labour it was. Once the mess was fixed, she lightly pushed one earphone into each ear and scrolled through the thousands of songs zhe had to choose from. Her thumb continued to trace circles around the buttons until she found a light hearted song, the kind of song that gave you the urge to randomly start dancing whenever you hear it. It wasn't anything popular, from what he knew, but Alyshia always found it made her smile on the inside and out.
Once the melody of the song began to flood her ears, Alyshia's frowning lips slowly curled up into a small smirk as she bobbed his head slightly to the beat. It took her several more moments then usual to realise that she was lying to herself. Blegh. That meant but one thing-the one thing she had promised not to indulge herself in on that particular day. It was an even bigger drug to her cigarettes, though she could do without neither. On the other hand, its effects were far more instantaneous. She suffered from migraines-had been visitted by one in the early hours of that particular morning, as a matter of fact. But some urges were simply unignorable.
She arrived in record time, which probably had something to do with her driving at several miles above the speed limit; a matter of little to no importance. Alyshiea entered the familiar coffeeshop with relief, standing just inside the doorway to let herself fully appreciate her surroundings. The laughter, the warmth, the ultra-chic crowd with the snazzy gadgets. She herself was dressed uber-prep with her jeans and lush sweater, dainty flats and not her usual killer heels on her feet. Pony-tailed and fresh faced. Looking perfectly innocent as she ordered politely, surveying the crowds as she waited. She paid with the same small smile, more of a smirk as she made her way across the room. "Seat taken, Ness?" she asked sweetly, though the question was made irrevelant with her dropping into the armchair opposite without further invite. "I haven't talked to you in ages. How is it over at Delta Gamme?" Though she couldn't care less, she knew it served her image as rivalling sorority president. In other matters she found Vanessa Rochester bemusing, even endearing to be around. Too bad about the rivalling soroties, in other words.

Vanessa finished her shopping and walked into Chocolate. After giving her order and taking her drink, she moved to her seat and sat down, her Jimmy Choo heels clicking on the floor as she headed there. She didn't know why, but she always felt confident in a pair of high heels... Whenever she felt down, lets face it all girls had those days, she would put her high heels on, fixing her make up and she would immediately feel better... They were boosting her confidence! Vanessa checked her cell phone, just to see that she had no messages and she let out a sigh. Usually she would have a text message from Blake, but nope! Nothing! Zit! Rien! Niente! Probably he had practice or he was studying so it was probably normal.
Vanessa flipped through the pages of the magazine, taking a few sips from her coffee, but not really paying attention at what she was reading. She kept zoning in and out... She could hear some people in a near table causing some commotion, about one of them being on TV... In her opinion that was stupid... Everyone had their 15 minutes of fame, some even 15 seconds, but she saw no point and nothing extraordinary in that. And certainly no reason for causing all that noise! After a while she shook her head and managed to focus on her Vogue, and started reading an article about the trends of the winter and the upcoming Spring
Vanessa was always the social, outgoing type... She always had a circle of people around her... People that were her friends, people that pretended to be her friends, people who wanted to be her friends and people who wanted to be her... Her life was always like that... Maybe it was the money, the fortune and the family name that attracted all those people around her like bees on the honey... Maybe it was because they truly did want to be with her... The sure thing was that since she was little she knew that she should trust no one but herself... Everyone would stab you on the back at some point... Everyone, no exceptions... There were only a couple of people she could really call her friends and trust but those were miles away now... Vanessa also learned not to care about what people thought about her and most importantly not to allow to anyone to make her feel bad about who she was and not let anyone to try to change her... She was who she was. If they didn't like her, the solution was simple... Not socialize with her... She couldn't force everybody to like her, like she couldn't be forced to like someone! Everyone was different... Wouldn't the world be one boring and dull place to be if everybody was the same? Same hair, same eyes, same body type, same clothes, same habits, same interests... That would be just awful! Call her weird, but that was just what she believed... Vanessa never believed the whole karma thing... She was of the opinion that people make their own future, their own karma... One thing she believed though was herself... And not to the self absorbed way, or the overconfidence and all that. No. By believing to herself meant the feeling, the vibe if you want to use that word, she got from people that approached her. If she felt nice and comfortable in someone's company or if she got that unpleasant knot in her stomach, a bad feeling, that always proved to be right in past encounters she had...
Vanessa heard someone talking to her and she looked up just to see Alyshia Wylde the president of Zeta tau alpha sitting across from her... Now don't get her wrong, she could even be friends with the girl if they weren't in different houses and if they were both presidents of those houses... Let's face it... With the greeks it was always a dog eat dog situation. On who was the best, who would get the most pledges etc etc. So they had to keep the rivalry image, reserve the "myth". Vanessa arched an eyebrow and shrugged her shoulders Fabulous... Just great as always... she replied with a half smirk How about zeta tau alpha? she asked bringing the cup of coffee to her lips and taking a sip from her coffee[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
